All the different phases are managed internally with the collaboration of the technical part of SUPSI, (Scuola Universitaria Professionale Della Svizzera Italiana, based in Ticino South Switzerland) and the University of Barcelona with the collaboration of our partner prof. Jaime Ferrer Dalmau. We are also members of the swiss association Composites United, the largest network for fiber-based materials.

& Expertise

A major part of Innovative Recycling’s work is made possible through collaborations with outside partners, sharing their technologies and expertise to help create pioneering carbon fiber products, tailor-made according to each client’s needs. Innovative Recycling is not just a supplier of the raw product. On the contrary, our extensive research on new and innovative ways to treat and produce carbon fiber composites is an essential part of our future, and the way to the future is through our major collaborations. Some of the companies around Europe working closely with Innovative Recycling are namely R*Concept, Cannon and Microtex, and together, we set out to shape the future of the recycled carbon fibers industry.

Tailor-made
solutions based on
our clients’ needs

At the same time, Innovative Recycling makes it a point to work closely with their clients, from helping them explore the horizons of carbon fiber use, and offering tailor-made solutions based on their exact needs. For example, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups approached us to explore the potential of replacing steel with carbon fiber in shipbuilding, a challenge we enthusiastically accepted and are looking forward to seeing to fruition. We also supply automobile component manufacturers with tailor-made carbon fiber powder for the manufacture of high-performance braking plates, whereas we have also designed carbon buckles. Some promising contacts have also been initiated for the creation of protective parts for motorcycle clothing gear, as well as the design of surgical templates and prosthetics.

Carbon fibers are a versatile product, with a plethora of applications in a wide array of industries. The remarkable strength, tensibility, heat and corrosion resistance properties of carbon fibers make it a durable and lightweight component for aerospace engineering to replace metal parts, resulting in astounding fuel saving. The same principles apply to the defense industry and wind energy sectors as well. At the same time, the industry of high-performance automobiles, such as Formula-1 racecars, has already introduced carbon fiber to their manufacture, and the developments in recycled carbon fiber will broaden the horizons for the automotive industry in general, in the manufacture of braking components and more. Sports and recreation have already initiated the use of carbon fiber in their manufacturing processes, for the creation of stronger, lighter and more efficient protective gear and more.

Carbon fibers will surely be at the forefront of all industries in the years to come, and Innovative Recycling will lead with the production of reliable and cost-effective recycled carbon fibers.
